U.S. hotel industry’s occupancy rises by 0.8 percent

The U.S. hotel industry experienced positive results in the three key performance metrics during the week of 29 July-4 August 2012, according to data from STR. In year-over-year comparisons for the week, occupancy ended the week virtually flat with a 0.8-percent increase to 71.7 percent, average daily rate increased 3.9 percent to US$106.71 and revenue per available room ended the week with an increase of 4.7 percent to US$76.55.
