A stunning exhibition of wildlife bronzes by contemporary sculptor Geoffrey Dashwood will be held at St Barbe Museum & Art Gallery, Lymington, Hampshire from Saturday, 5th May until Saturday, 23rd June. The sculptures avoid all superfluous detail concentrating on the subject’s aesthetic form with smooth, tactile surfaces, enhanced by the application of coloured and multi-coloured patinas. There are no feather contours, just broad-based strokes, which retain the unique character of the bird. Although working generally within wildlife subjects, many see his sculpture as transcending the subject matter into the wider field of contemporary art.
